December 23rd 2022 - Kisan Diwas

23-12-2022

Educon International School acknowledged the efforts of our farmers in various ways on the occasion of Kisan Diwas. Farmers are the backbone of our country. India has always been considered an agriculture-dominated country. A rich and resourceful land made it possible for Indians to adopt farming. The life of a farmer is tough and he works hard day and night in all seasons to get good crops so that we get food to eat and we stay healthy. EIS students were sensitized to these facts.

Multiple sessions with an NGO - Donate Aid Society (actively involved in Farmer's welfare) were organized. EIS had invited Ms Kishori Agnihotri and Mr Patil, who are very passionate professionals and are actively involved in the grassroots projects of the NGO.

They spoke about Rice Farming and the importance of commerce involved in it. Their NGO helps farmers sell the Rice directly to consumers without any middleman. They emphasized upon the hardships of farmers in Mulshi taluka and the various projects their NGO is involved in for the welfare of farmers.

They also demonstrated the preparation of "Jeevamrut" which is prepared with Goumutra, Cow Dung and some other ingredients which were hundred percent organic and explained how it helps the crops.

The presentations made by the NGO were informative in nature that reiterated the importance of farmers in our life.

EIS students presented beautiful handmade cards to guests and promised them to visit the Rice mill and Rice farms in the upcoming month.
