21-08-2020

Virtual field trips instantly connect students with learning opportunities they may not get to experience otherwise. And it all happens from the comfort of their home.

EIS students visited the National Chemical Laboratory (NCL) for Virtual Field Trip. CSIR-National Chemical Laboratory, Pune is a research, development and consulting organization with a focus on chemistry and chemical engineering.

Dr Selvaraj, A principal scientist from NCL explained the various apparatus from his Nano and Computational Materials Laboratory.

Dr Selvaraj and his team of research students also showed the Crystallization experiment with a new innovative method using magnet to reduce the time for completion of the process. Crystallization is defined as a process by which a chemical is converted from a liquid solution into a solid crystalline state.

It was a fun and educational experience for all of them! It was a wonderful learning opportunity that coincides with their academics in the subject Chemistry.
