Skype Session - Meet Ukraine

A Skype session was organized with Ms. Liudmyla Talashkevych, an EFL teacher from Ukraine to interact with EIS students and know more about Ukraine - the largest contiguous country on the European continent.

Learning Objectives of the session were ;

- to learn about the geographical location of Ukraine,
- to explore the traditions and customs of the country

While attending the session, EIS students virtually travelled to the capital city of Ukraine, Kyiv, which is more than 1500 years old. Kyiv stands on the Dnipro river, the fourth largest river in Europe. They witnessed a country with rich history, gorgeous ancient architecture.

Ms Liudmyla spoke about her school, the various field trips she arranges for students, the cuisine and lifestyle. She promised to make EIS students meet with her students as soon as vacation gets over.

Students were overwhelmed with the session and found it very useful and informative. They also expressed their desire to have much more such sessions, as it gave them a new perspective and helped them to get globally connected.

EIS organizes such sessions which exposes students to new Language, Culture and Traditions of new nations and would promote development of personal ties between teachers and students of global schools. It will make students aware of Global issues and will equip them with skills and knowledge to be an Active Global Citizen. They will also be able to speak on the similarities and peculiarities among world cultures.
