Navratri Celebration

01-10-2022

In India, Navratri is a famous Hindu festival celebrated with great joy and reverence. This festival is a joyous way of worshiping Goddess Durga. “ Navratri “ is a Sanskrit word where ‘Nav’ means nine and ‘Ratri means nights.

Dressed up in Chaniya Cholis and Chudidar Kurtas, Preschoolers of EIS celebrated Navratri. They performed Garba Raas dancing to the beats of music. During Navratri, little girls celebrate “Bhondla”. An elephant is drawn either with rangoli on the floor or with chalk on the slate and is kept in the middle. The girls go around it in a circle holding each other's hands and singing Bhondla songs.

Our students had a great time and enjoyed the celebration of this festive season.
